【故事梗概】
　　在律师事务所做书记员的小芬，整天用她的笔记录着这座西南地区发展中城市里各色女子所遭遇的一切。而小芬自己的生活也很没有安全感：同居的男友忽然失踪了，可能是卷入了一场凶杀案；她的妈妈、她的女性朋友也一样过着没有依托的日子。　　
　　这部片子由两个交替出现的部分组成：一部分是小芬在律师事务所里对各色女子口述的记录，另一部分是对小芬及其身边女子遭遇的叙述。
　　采用这样的一个结构，是想让这部电影成为一份中国内陆城市（农村）女性生存状态的简报。
synopsis
Xiaofen works a clerk at a law firm located in a developing city in Southwestern China. Her job is to meet different female clients of the firm and document each case. However, just like the female clients involved in those lawsuits, Xiaofen is also in trouble. She feels anxious and unsafe. Her boyfriend, who was living with her, goes missing, possibly because he was a murderer. And her mother and her women friends lead unsettled lives.
This movie consists of two alternating parts. One part comprises the actual, true stories told by the female clients whom Xiaofen meets in her job. The other part is the narrative about Xiaofen herself and her female friends. The intention of the film’s structure is to present a contemporary report on the status of women living in an inland city in China.

　　《另一半》是一部源于希望和失望的电影。　
　　片中的那场灾难并没发生在那座城市里，但它是可能的生活、明天的写照、普通人生存与心灵危机的象征。
　　我尽量将视线集中在各阶层、年龄段的女人身上，采用极简的电影语言，用直白、干脆的方式进行叙述和表达。
Director’s statement
THE OTHER HALF is a film that comes from both despair and hope.
The ill-fated incident that it relates did not actually occur in the city in which the story is set, but it is a problem that is found worldwide. My film attempts to show a portrait of the future, and symbolizes the existential and spiritual crisis which ordinary people experience.

【导演简介】
　　应亮，1977年生于中国上海，毕业于北京师范大学艺术系影视制作专业和重庆大学电影学院导演系，获得《东方早报》评选的“文化中国2007年度人物——新锐导演奖”以及《后天》杂志评选的“中国（2007—2008）后天双年度电影奖”。
　　至今完成各类短片十五部，长片三部。
　　长片处女作《背鸭子的男孩》（05）获得包括东京FILMeX国际电影节评审团大奖和旧金山国际电影节最佳影片SKYY奖在内的五个国际电影节的重要奖项，被纽约现代艺术博物馆（MoMA）以及新加坡亚洲电影资料馆放映及收藏, 英国影评网 “jigsaw lounge”将其评选为第35届鹿特丹国际电影节“Top10”的第一名，并在超过三十个国际电影节上进行放映。2008年9月在纽约上映。
　　之后，完成了第二部长片《另一半》（06），获得包括韩国全州国际电影节最佳影片奖在内的四个国际奖项，至今也在三十多个国际影展上放映。2008年3月作为纽约现代艺术博物馆举办的“当代亚洲”影展开幕电影，放映六场，获得《纽约时报》的高度评价。
　　《好猫》（08）获得布里斯班国际电影节费比西国际影评人联盟奖
　　三部长片皆被栗宪庭电影基金收藏。
　　08-09年完成三部短片的拍摄和剪辑。09年5月拍摄了长片《消失在春天的生命》，剪辑中。
　　长片剧本《被台风刮走》获得鹿特丹国际电影节HBF数字项目基金，入选香港亚洲电影投资会（HAF）、戛纳电影节的“工作室”单元以及台北金马影展国际影视创投会。
Born 1977 in Shanghai, China. Ying Liang graduated from the Department of Directing at the Chongqing Film Academy and Beijing Normal University. His short film THE MISSING HOUSE (03) has won the best script award in the Beijing Student Film Festival, and Critics Award in the Hong Kong Independent Short Film Festival.
After the success of his short films, he directed his first Feature film TAKING FATHER HOME (05), which has won awards at Tokyo Filmex FF, Hong Kong IFF, Singapore International FF and San Francisco IFF. TAKING FATHER HOME has also been selected to more than 30 international film festivals including Tiger Awards Competition in the lFF Rotterdam, Vancouver IFF, San Francisco IFF, Chicago IFF and Fribourg IFF, among others.
On Sep.2008, TAKING FATHER HOME was shown at Two Boots theatre as its theatrical screenings in New York.
In 2006, he made THE OTHER HALF, which is supported by the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) from the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film won awards at Tokyo Filmex Film Festival, Singapore IFF,Jeonju IFF and Jogja NETPAC Asian FF. It was shown six times in New York MoMA as opening film of “Contemporary Asian” showcases. THE OTHER HALF has also been selected to more than 30 international film festivals including New Directors/New films FF at MoMA, IFF Rotterdam, Vancouver IFF, San Francisco IFF, Buenos Aires International Independent FF etc.
His new feature film GOOD CATS (08) got FIPRESCI Prize at Brisbane IFF.
TAKING FATHER HOME, THE OTHER HALF and GOOD CATS all were collected by Li Xianting Film Fund.
Project BLOWN BY THE TYPHOON was selected for Cinefondation of Cannes Festival，Hong Kong-Asian Film Financing Forum(HAF) and Film&TV Co-production Meeting of Taipei Golden Horse FF. It also got support by the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) from the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
At the moment, he is editing new feature film BITTER MEMORIS.

方家胡同46号院
1.雍和宫方向（北二环雍和宫桥）往南，国子监南边的第一条胡同就是方家胡同，进方家胡同步行大约300米左手边的46号大院。
2. 方家胡同位于安定门内大街上，安定门和交道口中间。从这两个地方走的路程差不多。见到方家胡同进来大约200米右手边的46号大院。

开车：方家胡同为单行道，方向为西向东。需要从交道口方向向北，过了交道口路口之后的第一个红绿灯右边的胡同就是方家胡同。
18:00后，可从雍和宫大街进国子监胡同孔庙停车场。猜火车设有工作人员引路。

地铁：
1.二号线地铁安定门站东北口出，向南走，国子监南的第一个胡同为方家胡同。
2.五号线地铁北新桥站A口出，向北走，大约200米左手边就会看到方家胡同。

公交：104路等等很多车都有一站叫方家胡同，并且其他公交车在国子监、安定门站、北新桥站下都可到达。可以到这里去查看乘车路线www.bjbus.com
