我这一辈子

作者出生在中国北方的一个村庄，这个村庄约有100年的历史。村里年龄最大的男性村民名叫张俊峰，88岁了，他放了一辈子牲口，虽家徒四壁，但性格乐观，身体硬朗。他有个78岁的弟弟——张俊山，一辈子命运多舛，干过很多职业，防疫站医生、乡村小学教师、菜园子把式、生产队计工员、曲艺作家、算命先生……但都好景不长。2007年2月，作者回到家乡，记录了老哥俩儿的晚年生活。在他们的讲述中，个人的生命史和村庄的变迁一点点浮现。
Synopsis：
At 88 years of age, Zhang Junfeng is the oldest man in his century-old village in Northern China. He has been a shepherd his entire life, and though separated from most of his family, he has a positive outlook. He has a 78-year-old brother named Zhang Junshan. Junshan has had a complicated life, never holding any of his various jobs for long: doctor at an epidemic center, village primary school teacher, vegetable gardener, production team foreman, songwriter and even fortune teller. Through the accounts of these two men in the twilight of their lives, a picture of personal journeys and village history emerges.

本片是我的系列纪录片《故乡风土》的第一部。片中主人公之一张俊山是我很早之前就想拍摄的人物，我对他如此熟悉，并受到他的深刻影响。直到剪片时，我依然强烈地感觉到仅仅拍到了他生命的零头。相比之下，我对他的哥哥张俊峰颇为陌生，感谢这部纪录片给了我一个机会去了解这位老人。在一个因片长关系被剪去的段落中，张俊峰缓慢地回忆起他的一位长辈全家的离散遭遇，末了的一句话深深地打动了我：“人这一辈子，不易啊！”这句轻轻的喟叹，我会一辈子记着。
Director’s Statement:
I was born in a small century-old village in Northern China. I returned to my hometown in February 2007 to document these men in the twilight of their lives. This film is the first of my Hometown series. The main character in My Whole Life, Zhang Junshan, is a person I’ve wanted to make a film about for a long time. I know him well, and have been deeply influenced by him. Even as I was editing the footage I had the strong feeling that I had only captured a glimpse of his life. In comparison, I barely knew his brother Zhang Junfeng, and I’m thankful for the opportunity provided by this film to get to know him. In a scene that was cut out due to time constraints, Zhang Junfeng tells of his family being split apart. He concluded by saying, “life is tough.” This light touch of remorse will stay with me for the rest of my life.
