班忠义

辽宁抚顺人

1982年毕业于黑龙江大学东语系。

1997年赴日留学 一九九一年获上智大学新闻学硕士学位。

1992年以长篇纪实文学《曾伯母的海》（日文）获第七届朝日周刊纪实文学大奖。

1996年出版《咫尺天涯的祖国》（日文）

2000年所拍摄的《王母郑氏》分别在日本和台湾国际纪录片双年展上映。

2005年所拍摄的《盖山西和她的姐妹》在云之南纪录片论坛和凤凰卫视上映

2006年12月获该年度广州国际纪录片特别贡献奖。

2007年2月日文版《盖山西和她的姐妹》在日本全国发行放映

Ban Zhongyi was born in 1958 in Fushun, Liaoning Province in northen China. He go to Japan in 1987 as a foreign student, attending college and graduate school at Sophia University.

In 1992, he published Grandma So’s Sea, a nonfiction book dealing with the problem of Japanese women abandoned in China after World War 2. The book was awarded the Asahi Journal Prize. In 1995 he established the Association To Support Former Chinese “ Comfort Women.” He published A Homeland Near and Far in 1996.

In 1999, Ban completed his first documentary, “Where is Grandma Zheng’s Homeland?”. His companion book to his new film,  Gai Shanxi and Her Sisters in September 2006.
