梗概

1995 年夏天，圆明园的朋友告诉我警察开始抓人了，我觉得应该记录下这件事情，由于我当时没有摄像机，于是就找朋友王永刚商量，他帮我买了一台HI8摄像机，于是就拍摄了圆明园画家村的最后时刻。

Synopsis

Beijing’s Yuanmingyuan Artists’ Village (1989-1995)was the first truly spontaneous grassroots art 

communion China. Home to over 500 painters, poets andmusicians at its height, it represented a level of

personal and artistic freedom unprecedented in Socialist China. In the summer of 1995, Beijing police

–         citing “security concerns” – launched a series of raids and arrests designed to drive the artists out

of the Yuanmingyuan. By late autumn of 1995, the commune had been disbanded and the artists 

scattered: the dream of the Artists’ Village was no more. 

This documentary is a record of that painful time, the last days of the Yuanmingyuan.
