梗概Synopsis
本片拍摄于甘肃省古浪县黄羊川镇的邓草湾村。
村里一户人家有两名成员先后在一周内意外死亡，大人死于车祸，小孩原因不明地上吊自杀。人们觉得很不吉利，就决定将村中的旧庙重新翻修一下，希望冀此来驱邪保平安。翻修完毕后举行了庆祝仪式，庙中不但供着佛像，还贴着大幅的毛泽东画像。此外，由于当地道教盛行，他们又找来了邻村的道士做法。
第二天，附近的神婆子也被请来唱歌跳神，有的赞美观音菩萨，有的唱：“毛主席万岁！共产党万岁！”
本片记录了这两天的活动中，参与其中的人们的行为和言谈，用细节来呈现人们真实的信仰状况。
Synopsis:
This film was shot in Dengcao Wan village in
Two members of a family died in just a couple of days, one died in a car accident, the other hung himself. People in this village took it seriously, they decided to rebuild the old temple in the village, hoping it could bless them with peace.
After the rebuilding finished, they held a celebration ceremony. They enshrined the figure of Buddha in the temple, at the same time, put up a picture of Chairman Mao on the wall. Though it’s a Buddhist temple, instead of inviting monks to chant Buddhist scriptures, they asked the Taoists from nearby village to perform Taoist rite for the temple. The next day, the country shamans (a group of women) were invited to the ceremony. Some of them sang praises of Buddha, some of them sang the lyrics such as “Long live Chairman Mao! Long live the Communist Party!”
This film documented the two days of the ceremony in details, showing people’s behaviors and responses during the ceremony, as to reveal how they really thought about their religions.
